look how "gentle". doesnt even set the hook! absolutely amazing.
I have been so sick for the past week, I haven't been out on the ice. I still had a bucket of fatheads, so I forced myself to leave the house on Saturday, open water fishing, downtown Milwaukee. One 17" Walleye and I lost a big fish that broke the line, never saw it. Several other fellas catching Walleyes down there.

nice! hopefully that made you feel a bit better. can you keep/eat fish out of "downtown milwaukee"?

I wouldn't, but thats just me. It actually stinks down by the warm water discharge, the soil itself smells rancid. But from other guys I've talked to (including wardens) the potential exists for a trophy. The biggest I've managed to catch was a 24", last summer.

Besides, I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and bought some walleye fillets, pathetic, I know.

Hey MJ, are you talking about the MMSD Metro Milwaukee Sewage District Plant down in the 3rd ward, by the Allen Bradley clock tower. I tried there once in January about 4 years ago. We only caught 1 brown trout, but according to other fisherman and John Gillespie's Waters and Woods there are some big walleye in the Milwaukee River. I would'nt eat them though.

Its the discharge by the WE power plant, entry is behind Potawatomi. Its in the shipping canal.
MJ at 4:41 PM - February 09, 2009
Then you must have been fishing a little upstream from where the MMSD is, its right across the river from the post office.

While we enjoy excellent fishing today, 90% of the juvenile walleye population has disappeared in recent years. Help keep the Chippewa Flowage healthy.
