Hi everyone,
sorry for being late on the report. The storm last night knocked out the power. Monday i didn't guide, so i went looking for Mr. Walleye by myself. I was able to find Mr. Walleye in a couple different places. I caught some in the middepth sunken bogs, and some in shallow weeds. I had to leave by 7 oclock, and had a total of 6 Walleyes. 1-20 incher, 2-17 inchers, and 3 at about 14"es. also caught Blugills and bass.
I've got at least 4 good spots producing Walleyes now. Not bang bang action, but a few now and then. The forage base now is at it's peak with the yoy minnows, every bug hatching now, the crustaceans and invertebrates young being abundant. the Walleyes do not have to hunt long to fill up. The good news is that the forage will be getting cropped down fast from here on out. The fishing should improve considerably after another month.
For the weekend I wound up with 17 Walleyes with most being over 16"es. I also caught close to 100 blugills and over a dozen bass. Every thing was released. On Sunday my client raised a good musky. All in all a good weekend. With the hot sweltering conditions, i thought it was a very good weekend. For people who want Blugills, remember that the bigger ones are in the deeper water. I've been catching blugills up to 9"es out deep, and lots of them.
