you've all seen the pics...not unlike the one that Deano continues to borrow..... i THINK its fairly obvious to everyone that im not concerned with even trying to be "20-something-pick-up-chicks-cool" anymore.
im 33 years old. at THIS prime of my life, i promise you that last thing I want is to look like im clinging onto that other prime of my life. but while I fully recognize that that's gone, i still want to look a little "cool" - if nothing else, to prevent myself from drifting over into dorky.
So, I should just come out and say it. I bought my first pair of (...hesitation...) dad jeans yesterday. Straight cut, solid color jeans.
My jeans are one of VERY few things I have clung to this long. Jeans with tears, jeans with barely any color left right from the time you buy em, jeans that are a TAD baggy, jeans with crease marks in the lap.
Oh, I really really miss the crease marks in the lap.
Regardless, I'm gonna stay strong and give this a try.
I just can't help but wonder....ok, they're still jeans, not trousers...and yes, I still had the pride to fight off the "might as well save $10 and get LEE brand". But seriously, is this REALLY the best balance between trying too hard and growing up?

not to worry,,,my wife made me go buy hipper jeans,,,i loved carpenter jeans,,totally comfortable the phone slid perfectly into the ruler pouch,,,so now i'm sporting some straght leg fancy levi brand,,that arfent as comfy,,,but wife and daughter like them,,,,,,bit i duly warned them of the dangers of becoming HOT at my age so i'm going to risk that,,,,good luck lar!

I saw some cool jeans that were 55 bucks with rips already in them. I think people should buy 17.00 Key jeans from the Farm Fleet give'em to me for a few weeks and ill sell them back for 55 bucks.

Yes as long as they are not trousers belted under your nipple line you are fine.

Just to clarify: you are not really old. I am sure the jeans are great. Seriously, me personally, I have never noticed a guys jeans ~ only what was in them.

Not to worry, neighbor. as of today, the only time denny's is good is at 4:00.....am....after the bars close. will let you know when that changes!

Ellie, they are "just jeans" but the young hipsters have particularly cool jeans, so there'll always be a difference I spose. On the bright side, I went in this morning to get cigs. I was asked to take my sunglasses off before they could decide if I was old enough. So just maybe.... my sunglasses can now give me hope where jeans no longer can.

As long as you aren't wearing "skinny" jeans. Those things are hideous. And yes, I know what they are, I still run into 18-22 year olds on campus once and awhile.

hahaha...i only have one pair that even approaches it. i dont think theyre quite what you are talkin about...just regular - sans bagginess.

Yeah, not the same. Sans-bagginess = good. Male wearing what equates to womans tapered jeans = bad. I'd post an example in the album, but I don't think anyone wants Speedo Man in skinny jeans.

There you go Lar, dug through my archives and found Speedo Man when it gets chilly out. He steps up to skinny jeans. Still no shirt though.
