geno at 2:06 PM - March 05, 2010
Yes due to the fact he must not be a good guide if he needs to steal pics. I did explain the pics of the kids on March 4th I think we need to get off the soap boxes and go back to fishing. Wait I just fell off of mine
Neighbor Dave at 2:22 PM - March 05, 2010
here's what im thinkin: dear mr elmer, i am requesting a cease and desist as it pertains to your publication of any and all photographs of me. not only are they not your property and not only are they unrelated to the services you are advertising, but the one you have chosen is from before I upgraded my fishing attire and lost weight. ive also had better stringers. Thank you for your urgent attention.
lg3 at 2:27 PM - March 05, 2010
Weird...Are there any character witnesses out there for this individual? Is he legit? I often read his fishing report and they are often fantastic. Just wonder if at times they are fish tails???
Chip fan at 3:05 PM - March 05, 2010
Now that's funny. I'm starting to think Deano may be lar's alter ego and that they are one in the same. Has anyone ever met this guy? LOL. I think you should ask for a free guide trip lar since he's using your picture for his benefit.
DWW at 3:38 PM - March 05, 2010
so much to say about your post there, dww. if I didnt know you, id have to accuse you of baiting. haha
lg3 at 3:43 PM - March 05, 2010
Seriously, you should at least get a 6-pack out of it.
DWW at 3:58 PM - March 05, 2010
It's truly amazing that anybody would stupid enough to hijack a picture from a website dealing with the same body of water. It's nearly guaranteed that somebody will notice and point out what an anal cavity the guy is. I'd request a check.
cold front at 7:32 PM - March 05, 2010
I don't pretend to know how this all works but if you click on the link to his actual site from the page displayed by the link you provided Lar, your picture isn't there. On a positve note at least your picture is bigger than his!!
blarney at 7:51 PM - March 05, 2010
Do I think you care? No not really. Does my guess matter? Probably not really either, considering we've only met a few times shortly. Is it shady? Hell yeah. Pretty weak and dim if you ask me. But in all honesty, it's probably not worth more than the time to drop a line or shoot an email saying you don't like the use of your images without permission. Plus, its just bad advertising to get caught doing something like that.
Trav at 8:04 PM - March 05, 2010
Trav, sorry I wasnt clear. What I meant was "should i care". So far, I don't think I care enough to do anything other than keep this post at the top of this site for as long as I can.
lg3 at 8:11 PM - March 05, 2010
lar for what it is worth I think you need to take some action. If this guy cannot provide pictures of his own clients for his advertising it is probably because he stinks as a guide. Some one may see the picture think this guy can do the job and end up pissing away a few hundred bucks on this fraud. Just my opinion.
rbfe at 9:35 AM - March 06, 2010
Sorry, all I see at the top is "do I care?" :). Should you care? Yeah, morally its not right. False advertising and use of pictures without permission. But how much you should care is a different question. I think keeping this here awhile will eventually make its way to him. And hopefully get fixed.
Trav at 12:46 PM - March 06, 2010
lol..dammit Trav, let it go! I meant "do" in the sense of "do i go to the store, or do i go to the gas station". anyway, i sent an email today with nothing at all but a request to remove the image. we'll see.
lg3 at 1:15 PM - March 06, 2010
I know, but I'm writing a thesis right now, and when all anyone wants to do is nit-pick my stuff, the tendency just rubs off. Got a question though. As more and more bad numbers for the eyes come out over the past year, are you still scratching up the down year last summer to the weird weather pattern (or lack there of), poor numbers, or a combination of both?
Trav at 4:09 PM - March 06, 2010
last year, IM confident, was 100% the weather pattern. the "sport" classes were too strong goin in, regardless of what was happening with recruitment during the same time. considering that, i think if the weather straightens up, we are gonna have some real good years with those larger classes. after that....?????
lg3 at 5:09 PM - March 06, 2010
If he has that picture he knows where to find more of them. He is here among us.It would seem to me to be a waste of your time to contact him directly since he is probably reading this post anyways. Just be the better person and use his boat instead. LOL.
