Report #71 from lg3

Then-Current Conditions - 93F / 34C | Scattered Clouds - 1:53 PM CDT Jul. 27

Greg, I've also been having/hearing about the most consistent luck in about 10-13 ft of water, with sparse or short weeds.  What I found was anything down close enuf to the bottom was having luck.  Big-lipped rapala (as seen in pic) seemed to do the trick, but im sure jiggin leeches would have done the same.

havent been hitting the humps so much as they seem to be ok on the flats.  It is interesting that, at least last nite, we experienced the same shut off at dusk.  This seems to be the opposite of the springtime when that sunset meant fun time started.

As a result, I'm gonna be heading out a bit earlier tonite, maybe around 6 - will try a couple other spots and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the report.

While we enjoy excellent fishing today, 90% of the juvenile walleye population has disappeared in recent years. Help keep the Chippewa Flowage healthy.
