Saturday was also quite a bit of fun up on the Flowage.
Since we'd tired out our walleye casting arms on Fri, we decided to throw for some muskies. Unfortunately, our musky luck was about the same as our walleye luck - for the little while we were able to try for em.
Then we felt the storm comin. "Hmmmm....Geno, we're not far from your house, we got that sales call across the lake in an hour or so anyway. I don't know if we wanna risk takin the boat over there. Wanna head in before this hits and just drive over?"
Geno starts putting on his raingear. I covered my laptop under as many life preservers as I could find.
We were in Chief Lake, and again, our meeting definitely wasn't. It was no surprise to either of us when, in Tyner, the wall of water hit us. "It's good for the skin, Lar!"
15 minutes later, we tie the boat up and book into the resort....soakin wet, in FroggTogs, with a laptop. "Look what we just rode through in order to meet you!" Yes, these conversation starters are one thing that makes Salesman Geno invaluable.
Spent a couple hours at the meeting...ahem...turning the prospect into our first eLodgic implementation...and FINALLY got to go home and put on some dry clothes. Enough work....it was time for some walleye fishin again!
Would the wind hold up this night? We hoped so.
While the wind was a tad better than the night before, we only got one ... meh....respectable size walleye that night. This is the one that got us to fill the livewell...after we let him go! Grabbed him here, seems to always be a spot that wont send you away empty handed even when you feel like yer fishin the dead sea.
Sat night summary: Went home and drank. This time with the bonus of WalleyeMaxx's presence.
So, that was that. No, fishing wasnt great at all for us....for all weekend for that matter. Unlike when I lived there, I truly didn't care a bit. So much fun bein on the water, visiting resorts, porch drinkin with Geno and Maxx, improvising livewell solutions, and so on.
Geno, you're a great host and a great friend. Thank you for everything. Just let me know when you need a roomie for the weekend!

p.s. What resort were we at? Anyone sittin in there certainly noticed us. haha. Assuming you weren't one of them, hang on just a lil bit and we'll make a big ole deal out of it here, dont worry!
